Last week, 12 of Penryn’s local Community Volunteer Flood Wardens gave up their evening to come together and tackle a severe weather desktop exercise. The group discussed how they might respond to different scenarios during a storm event, using their Community Flood Plan to guide them.
A timely response here is vital as the area is part of a Rapid Response Catchment, vulnerable to flash flooding. Soon, the group will be taking on a live exercise to help put their local knowledge and skills to the test, out and about on the ground!
